In short: The Lex A5025 is a 1-foot adapter that lets you power gear with a blue powerCON® inlet from a powerCON TRUE1® outlet. It has a 20A powerCON TRUE1 male plug on one end and a 20A blue powerCON female connector on the other, joined by #12/3 SJOOW cord. It is rated 20A at 125V AC, single-phase (hot, neutral, ground).

Bridge old and new

Why do you need a TRUE1 to powerCON Blue adapter?

Newer distro, power strips and cable runs often use powerCON® TRUE1, but many fixtures and devices still take power through an original blue powerCON inlet. The two systems are keyed differently and won't plug into each other. The A5025 bridges that gap, so you can keep using your blue-inlet gear on a TRUE1 power system.

Mix TRUE1 and powerCON gear

Feed fixtures with blue powerCON inlets from TRUE1 outlets without rebuilding cables or swapping inlets.

Premium Neutrik connectors

Genuine Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 and powerCON connectors on both ends, the same locking hardware used across the industry.

Tough SJOOW cord

#12/3 SJOOW cord is oil resistant and rated for outdoor use, and the 12-gauge conductors carry the full 20A rating.

Short and tidy

A 1-foot length keeps the adapter close to the fixture, with no extra cable to coil, dress or trip over.

Built to last

Durable materials and Lex construction hold up to repeated rigging, touring and rental use.

Made for live events

Lex builds it for theatrical, convention center and live event power, where mixed connector systems are common.

On set & on show

Where is the Lex A5025 adapter used?

Use the A5025 anywhere a TRUE1 power source needs to feed equipment with a blue powerCON power input:

  • Older LED fixtures and moving lights with blue powerCON inlets on a newer TRUE1 distro
  • Rental and touring inventories that mix TRUE1 cable with powerCON-equipped fixtures
  • Theatre electrics moving to TRUE1 while keeping existing fixtures in service
  • Convention centers and trade shows where house TRUE1 power meets client gear
  • Video walls, processors and amps with blue powerCON power-in connectors
  • Film and video sets running mixed-generation LED panels from one power system

Using it safely

How do you use the A5025 safely?

The TRUE1 end can be connected and disconnected under load. The original blue powerCON end can't, so make and break power at the TRUE1 end.

  1. Check the load. Keep the device's draw within 20A and within the rating of the breaker feeding the circuit.
  2. Connect the blue end first. Insert the blue powerCON connector into the device's blue inlet and twist to lock while the adapter is unpowered.
  3. Plug in the TRUE1 end. Insert the TRUE1 male plug into a TRUE1 outlet or female extension cable and twist to lock.
  4. Disconnect in reverse. Unplug the TRUE1 end first, then release and remove the blue powerCON connector.

Original powerCON connectors are not designed to be connected or disconnected under load. Follow your local code, venue rules and the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Compatibility

What does the Lex A5025 work with?

Power flows from the TRUE1 end to the blue powerCON end. The blue connector only fits blue powerCON power-in inlets. It won't mate with gray powerCON power-out connectors, which are keyed differently on purpose.

Questions

Lex A5025 frequently asked questions

What does the Lex A5025 adapter do?

The Lex A5025 lets you power equipment that has a blue powerCON inlet from a powerCON TRUE1 outlet. It has a 20A TRUE1 male plug on one end and a 20A blue powerCON female connector on the other, on 1 foot of #12/3 SJOOW cord, rated 20A at 125V AC.

Why is the powerCON connector blue?

On original powerCON, blue marks power going into a device and gray marks power coming out. The A5025's blue female connector plugs into a device's blue power-in inlet. It will not mate with gray powerCON connectors, which are keyed differently.

Can I plug or unplug the A5025 under load?

Only at the TRUE1 end. powerCON TRUE1 has breaking capacity and can be connected or disconnected under load, but original blue powerCON connectors cannot. Connect the blue end first, then plug in the TRUE1 end, and unplug the TRUE1 end first when you disconnect.

Do powerCON and powerCON TRUE1 plug into each other?

No. Original powerCON and powerCON TRUE1 are keyed differently and do not mate directly. An adapter like the Lex A5025 is needed to connect a TRUE1 power source to equipment with a blue powerCON inlet.

What is the rating of the Lex A5025?

It is rated 20A at 125V AC, 60 Hz, single-phase with hot, neutral and ground, 2-pole and 3-wire.

What cord does the A5025 use?

It uses 1 foot of black #12/3 SJOOW cord. SJOOW cord is oil resistant and rated for outdoor use, and 12-gauge conductors carry the full 20A rating.

What if I need to go the other way, from powerCON to TRUE1?

The A5025 only goes from a TRUE1 power source to a blue powerCON inlet. To power TRUE1 equipment from an original powerCON source, you need an adapter wired in the opposite direction. Call us and we'll help you find the right one.
