Every JG Series model has NEMA 5-15 outlets, a circuit breaker for overload protection, and the same base level of AC protection: a fast-acting metal oxide varistor (MOV) that clamps voltage spikes and a filtering capacitor that reduces line noise. Rear outlets are rotated 90° so power bricks and wall warts don't block the outlet next to them.

Add up your wattage first. The 15 amp JG models are rated for 12 amps continuous, about 1,440 watts at 120 volts. The JG 11-20A is rated for 18 amps continuous, about 2,160 watts, but its NEMA 5-20P plug needs a 20 amp receptacle.
Count your outlets, then add a couple. Monitors, wireless video receivers, routers, DMX nodes and chargers add up quickly. The JG 11 models give you the most room to grow.
Decide on a switch. Switched models let you power the whole rack up or down at once. The JG 9NS has no switch, so nothing gets turned off by accident during a take.
Check your reach and rack depth. The JG 11 models have 15-foot cords for deep racks and carts. The JG Junior is only 4.5 inches deep for tight spaces.
All JG Series units are designed for monitors, video gear, control electronics and small LED fixtures. Larger lights such as 600W-plus LED heads or HMI ballasts should run on their own circuit or a dedicated distro.
