The extremely compact, focusable, weatherproof, multipurpose 400 Watt daylight spotlight. The Kobold DW 400 lampbase, with the selected reflector or adapter, can be operated as a fully-fledged Open Face, PAR, or area light with a softbox or lantern, or as a light source for Jr and 750 Source Fourª profile spotlight. The conversion is quick and without any tools due to a locking mechanism. The optimized design of the reflectors achieves a high light output and a homogeneous illumination. These daylight fixtures impress with their solid design, compact dimensions and maximum reliability for all applications in the studio and on location. The housing is made of high-strength aluminum and is equipped with a mount for single-ended HMI/MSR lamps with a high degree of efficiency. The ignition unit is airtight and allows instant cold and hot striking even in a humid environment. Further characteristics are the lightweight and compact dimensions, no stray light, heat resistant ceramic safety glass, and a wide range of accessories. The DW line of Kobold HMI units are weather resistant from water, dust and dirt with a safety class of IP54 (with mounted reflector) making them ideal for use in all indoor and outdoor conditions.

The extremely compact electronic multipower ballast units features automatic lamp detection to allow the highly convenient operation of 400 W, 575 W and 800 W daylight lamp bases (plug and play).

Kobold splashwater-protected (IP 43) EWB ballast units are equipped with an automatic voltage detection circuit for ratings from 85 V to 265 V 50 / 60 Hz. Even at very high ambient temperatures, the patented temperature management system assures safe and reliable operation.
